Contract Summary
The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), through its Enterprise Services office, awarded CTI a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) to deliver a full range of hardware, software, and multi-brand maintenance support. This contract enables DOC agencies and bureaus to access modern multifunction devices, production printers, document security tools, and managed print services. The BPA also includes support for document management software and secure authentication capabilities. CTI’s offering allows DOC to standardize equipment, improve service levels, enhance security, and drive cost savings across its print environment – all under a scalable, centrally managed program available to all Commerce agencies.
Approach
DOC needed a modern print environment that aligned with its mission to promote economic growth and innovation. The agency aimed to eliminate costly desktop printers, increase user productivity, and secure its document workflows. With 12 agencies and bureaus under its umbrella, DOC required a standardized and secure solution that supported “Follow Me Print” and “Printing as a Service” across its Washington, D.C. headquarters – while offering flexibility, cost controls, and visibility into usage for long-term operational efficiency.
CTI deployed high-speed multifunction printers with optional accessories, color and monochrome capabilities, and secure CAC/PIV authentication using RFID-enabled cards. We unified five domains into one authentication platform and enabled “Follow Me Print” across the headquarters. Users now print from any device after secure login. CTI also installed print-monitoring software for real-time analytics, and placed on-site support staff to manage break-fix, supplies, and service. This comprehensive architecture became a model offering available to all DOC agencies and bureaus.
DOC now operates a fully managed print program that reduces IT burden, increases user flexibility, and boosts security. With one secure print queue for NOAA, BIS, ITA, NTIA, and OS, users access customized workflows from any device. Auto-registration simplifies onboarding, and real-time usage tracking enhances oversight. CTI’s solution consolidated hardware, eliminated redundant devices, and introduced secure, scalable print management – laying the foundation for a modern, efficient, and cost-effective 21st-century workplace across all DOC agencies and bureaus.
